A constructive program emphasizing better grades, confidence, self-awareness, respect and discipline as a life skill. ~ Ken King, Principal Imagine Charter Schools

Ian demonstrates more responsibility and confidence in completion of his homework each day. He works on homework as soon as he comes home and has shown big improvement in school and even made the honor roll last semester. This is a direct result of the instruction & confidence being instilled in your martial arts program. We look forward to a long and rewarding relationship. ~Wayne Jacobs

His love of the Martial Arts is helping with his school grades. Anything you say is absorbed and practiced by Deonte'. He knows you have an MBA and you talk about the importance of school grades. He has brought up his grades and is fighting to maintain passing levels.~ Sincerely, Allyne R. McFalls

Nicholas is a high strung little boy and requires a release for his energy. I have noticed that he performs better and seems to be more focused when he goes to martial arts class regularly. Recently, I had a parent teacher conference and got wonderful comments on his behavior and concentration in class. His teacher is amazed at his academic progress as well as his improvement in his behavior. Thank you! ~ Heather Bullock

Devinn has always been a little timid and shy. Now he is becoming more confident and self-assured at school and home. I have spoken a number of times with Devinn’s schoolteacher and she and I both agree that you’re after school martial arts program has been a great opportunity for him. ~ Dwight & Lisa Gleaton

When I enrolled Chelsey in your program she was having trouble concentrating in school, socializing, and temper tantrums. With hard work and dedication on your part, she is now doing wonderful. She has friends at school and her teacher at Berean Academy gives glowing reports that Chelsey is doing extremely well and is currently on the Honor Roll! I always recommend you’re after school program to anyone at any age but I specifically tell people that have children that need to learn discipline and self-control that your program is the only martial arts school I would recommend. It is a well structured environment that is consistent with children’s needs. You are instilling values and lessons in them that will last a lifetime. Thank you so much. ~ Joyce M. Chandler

We have admiration for you and your staff for the ability to coach the martial arts, but also for your mentoring and positive influence. This is demonstrated not only in Elizabeth’s martial arts and increased athletic ability, but also in her academic and social skills. Her focused attention has increased and that of her grades since she has enrolled in the martial arts program. The patience and determination of the martial arts staff have allowed her the ability to gain greater self-confidence with herself as well as with social situations. We continue to thank you for your instruction and mentoring. ~ Wayne and Chisty Taylor

My son, Antonio, has benefited from the martial arts program in several different ways. He has become more reliable and taken on more responsibility in the past few months. He wants to help me more with things around the house, as well as taking things upon himself to do, like homework and chores on his own. His martial arts has also helped Antonio in school and he is definitely starting to like school a whole lot more. His grades are wonderful, he made Honor Roll and he is also becoming a very outgoing little person who has lots of friends. I am very excited that he enjoys martial arts so much and that it has been such a positive experience for both he and I. ~ Mary Iglesias

This martial arts program has been nothing but a positive influence on the growth and development of my son. He has demonstrated vast improvements in school and home. He is very respectful and needs little to no correction in addressing adults. I believe this program has increased his concentration and attention to detail, which allows him to complete all before school, during school, and after school tasks expected of him. Since being enrolled in the program he has striven for academic excellence which was reflected in his making the General Myer Elementary School Honor Roll. He has taken more initiative to do his chores at home without being told. This is very important because this has been a constant battle with him, to constantly remind him to clean his room, brush his hair, and put on deodorant. Now I think he does these things naturally. I am very proud of Malik and blessed to have such a remarkable child. The program has helped me help him to realize his potential- simply unlimited. He is well on his way to being the greatest.  Thank you! ~LaKetha Prioleau

Read more of what others have to say after they got their child started with us:

"...He was failing at school. He had anger issues. He had very few interests outside of video games, cartoons, heavy metal music, and cats. His self-esteem was very low. He didn't seem to be very happy. From the beginning of his involvement with you I have seen very positive changes. Brandon is becoming more focused. His confidence and self-esteem are on the rise. He doesn't lose his temper as often, and when he does he is very quick to recover. His manners and work ethic are improving. He is much more helpful around the house. His grades are rising. He laughs more. He smiles more. He seems to be a lot happier. In short, I am seeing the total transformation that I was hoping for. He still has a long way to go, but I am very pleased with the progress he is making". ~ Thomas Featherston

"...I can't tell you how proud I feel, when I see them wake up on Saturday mornings and take turns vacuuming the house. When before, they would wake up and fight over who was going to go first on the video game. So I have really seen a positive change in both boys". ~ Mr. & Mrs. Carrasco

The changes that I have seen in Darcy have been with school work. She seems to have suddenly improved in several areas. According to her teacher it has been a steady growth, which she gives credit to her after school karate program. She seems to have grown right before my eyes. She made honor roll for the first time and she was very proud. Her goal now is to make the principles list. For an 11yrs old to set goals is pretty amazing, to me. Thank you ~ Pat Siguenza

It is my pleasure to share with you some of the benefits I have seen in my child over the past few months.  As I told you before, Nicholas is a high strung little boy and requires a release for his energy. Lately, he seems to be more focused with his daily activities.  He has been very polite and using yes ma’am in his responses to me.  Recently, I had a parent teacher conference and got wonderful comments on his behavior and concentration in class.  His teacher is amazed at his academic progress as well as his improvement in his behavior. Thank you. We look forward to more improvements in the future, especially with your upcoming Summer Karate Camp. ~ Thank you! Heather Bullock

Wow! Her physical fitness has improved as well as her grades in school!  She used to argue about doing her homework especially math.  Now she does it with out being told, even her math.  She has even improved on her social skills.  Chelsea now shows respect to her teachers and family members. Thank you so much! ~Marcella Bennett, Mother of Chelsea

I am Devinn Gleaton’s Fourth Grade teacher and I am writing a letter to keep you informed of Devinn’s academic progress this quarter.  I have seen a lot of growth in Devinn’s academics and working independently.  He is beginning to gain confidence in himself and believing in his work.  Thank You. ~ Lynn Tompkins Teacher at General Myer School

Dear Master Williamson,

Nick was not able to focus in class; he did not participate in class, and at times would become angry when he was frustrated.  I have noticed a 180 degree turn around.  Nick has overcome the problems I listed.  He is now confident, respectful, responsible, and has improved his school grades. He is now motivated to do well in school and actually interested in going to school.  He is also now participating in several different activities.  He has found the confidence and motivation to grow more and more every day. Thank You!~ Mrs. Mickle (Nick Frair’s Teacher)

Dear Master Williamson,

Thank you for allowing Ian to be part of your school and the Black Belt Club program.  Ian has improved in many ways since becoming a member. His general attitude and respect for others and their property has improved.  He has shown big improvement in school and even made the honor roll last semester.  He works on homework as soon as he comes home so he can attend training when we come home from work.  Thank you for all the encouragement you and your staff have given him.  We look forward to a long and rewarding relationship.  ~Wayne Jacobs

Since starting karate Ashley has shown improvement in school by minding the teacher better and staying more focused to the task at home. She enjoys karate and looks forward to each session. Thank you for all of your wonderful instruction and comments for our daughter.~Tonya and Elmo Abbott (Ashley’s parents’

As an adult student, my growth in the martial arts has been an experience. The trinity of martial arts, mind, body and spiritual is a concept that I am trying to master. Under the tutelage of Master Williamson, Tang So Do gives me the guidance and skills I need to grow on the trinity of the martial arts. This growth has manifested in al aspects of my life and I have a light that others can see. I am in the military attending Office Basic School. At school, I have been more focused. I have been able to grasp complex material easier, and my attention to detail is increasing. In my profession this is a very important skill to maintain and Tang So Do has given me the dexterity to exceed the standards and goals set for me. Spiritually, my focus on God is more directed. I am able to open my heart and receive his word which is very important for my salvation. My prayer life is stronger and he has blessed me and Tang So Do was the vessel and I praise him at all times for being able to learn and perform the art. ~La’Ketha D. Prioleau

Tang Soo Do has done many things for me. One thing is it helped me learn that I always need to study when teachers tell me to in karate or school, and to pay attention in class. Ever since I started I have paid more attention to when people tell me how to do things and what to do weather a favor or a task. It has helped with me shyness problem also because after I joined the leadership program about in a week I was able to talk to people and stand up in front of people easier than before. Finally I think it has helped in my strength because now in P.E. I can do 64 sit-ups in a minute and I now beat my best mile time. ~ Justin Ricks

Jordyn has grown so much in her self confidence. From what her teacher says at school, she is the perfect student. The teachers at her daycare say the same thing. I thank you for all the time you’ve put in helping Jordyn succeed. I also thank you for having the confidence in her that she will someday become a Black Belt. ~Elizabeth Grimm (Jordyn’s parent)

Robert has come a long way since he has enrolled in your karate classes.  He has grown at school he pays attention more and he turns all of his homework in.  He is more enthused about school.~ Kevin Bennett

Tang Soo Do has been nothing but a positive influence on the growth and development of my son, Malik Prioleau.  He has demonstrated vast improvements in school, home, and in the Dojang.  He is very respectful and needs little to no correction in addressing adults.  I believe Tang Soo Do has increased his concentration and attention to detail, which allows him to complete all before school, during school, and after school tasks expected of him.  Since being enrolled at your school he has striven for academic excellence which was reflected in his making the General Myer Elementary School Honor Roll.  He has taken more initiative to do his chores at home without being told.  This is very important because this has been a constant battle with him, to constantly remind him to clean his room, brush his hair, and put on deodorant.  Now I think he does these things naturally.  In the Dojang, I can see his concentration and focus has greatly improved.  He is very attentive and eager to learn to forms.  He has become a very non-selfish person.  He thinks about others before thinking of his self.  This reflects in his attitude in his thinking process and most definitely his behavior.  I am very proud of Malik and blessed to have such a remarkable child.  Your school has helped me help him to realize his potential- simply unlimited.  He is well on his way to being the greatest! ~La’Ketha Prioleau

What karate has done for me is it helped me to get better grades than last year.  It also helped me get involved in sports and not stay home playing video games like other kids do.  It’s helping me to feel confident with myself and to feel safe at school or anywhere else. And that’s what karate haws done for me in my life.  ~Dakota Alexander

Dear Master Williamson,

Ian has demonstrated more responsibility and confidence in completion of homework each day after school.  He accomplishes all homework without too much protest.  This would be a direct result of instruction and self-confidence being instills in him from your karate classes.  He has shown more respect for items and people.  His grades have improved and should continue to improve throughout the year.~ Wayne Jacobs

Dear Master Williamson,

Thank you because I have improved in my grades and I have confidence in my self.  I have done better in class.  I used to be scared to go in front of the class and I was also scared to help others if they needed help.  I think taking karate has helped me get confidence in my self.~ Antonio Iglesias

My son Kris was invited to a class during your Buddy Week program.  My husband and I came to the class with him to see how your Academy was run.  We were all very impressed with the class and especially with the instructors.  They all are professional and very polite.  We signed our son up after that first class and we are pleased with his progress.  Kris is doing well in school this year and he seems to be more positive.  His concentration is much better and we notice that he has more confidence in himself and he is also making new friends.  You and your instructors have helped in these changes and I would like to take this time to thank you and everyone at the Academy for everything you are doing for my son. ~ Mom and Volunteer for the Sierra Vista School District, Cindy Dillard

Since I have been in Tang Soo Do I have improved on doing my homework faster.  Now when I come home I start my work right after dinner on before.  I have also learned some Korean! ~Jesse Jacob Bustamante

I like how you introduce character counts. Activities with eyes closed would help with emotionally disturbed students. Building confidence before they break the board shows they need confidence in order to achieve their goals. The respect is something I push and push about respecting others. I f they want to be respectful they have to respect others first Great program , you get their attention and they really pay attention to you. Thank you for coming.~ Mrs. Mickle, Smtih Middle School 6th,7th,8 grade

You did a great job with teaching and being respectful. You have a great repor with the children. You are a good example of a role model. Good positive reinforcement. Thanks for coming. ~ Mrs. Leanne Howell ,Smith Middle School teacher’s aid

Dear Master Williamson,

I am very pleased with the progress my children Emmanuel and Erika Covian have displayed since joining your karate school.  Since their attendance to the, they have matured immensely, their grades at school have improved, and their physical fitness level has in creased. Both of my children enjoy your program and look forward to going to practice.  I particularly appreciate the discipline you instill in them.  As A parent, I teach them to be respectful to others.  Your discipline, I think they are learning valuable leadership skills. I am impressed with the young assistant instructors you have in your class.  In my opinion, the opportunity to assist you develops leadership skills in your students.  I fully intend to encourage my children to attend your academy and continue practicing martial arts in the future.~ Lawrence and Chiyoko Covian

I have gotten better on my reading grades.  I like karate because you learn new things that you can practice at home.  I have also made new friends in karate.  And I also like to practice things.  I have also learned that I can’t have people walk over.  Because before I couldn’t say no to people and now I can.  I have also gained more confidence to go up in class and spar.  Now I can go up in class and read my book report.  Before when I went to karate when I was little I didn’t pay attention but now I feel confident to do things now. ~ Erika Covian

I believe that my son, Cameron Duke, has indeed exhibited positive behavior at because of your martial arts academy. I have been pleased to see Cameron offering to help clear the dinner dishes form the table, completing his homework  with little or no fussing, and apologizing (sometimes days after the event, but that’s OK- I know he is thinking!) about his “bad behavior”. I believe your school and the other school he is attending,  First Baptist Christian Academy, complement each other and reinforce values like courtesy, respect, and discipline. It is a wonderful thing to be around good people! And what better way to teach to a child that by example!~ Theresa Quigley

I think that joining Tang Soo Do has helped me greatly. I think some of the things it has helped me with include concentration, dedication and endurance. The academy of martial arts and fitness has also helped me with my self confidence. There qualities don’t just help oae with my martial arts but in my life outside the studio. My grades have improved since I started Tang Soo Do. I have also become a better leader in several ways. Let’s first start out with my concentration and its improvement. I have become more focused in class. Therefore my grades have improved major. I am also a better student not only in grades but over all. I am almost sure that my parents have seen improvements in me as well. For example, I am more focused on chores and do it completely through the first. That are the main ways confidence has improved. Now we move on to my dedication and endurance in physical activity has improved greatly and I take pride in that. I am very dedicated to Tang Soo Do and the more I practice the more endurance I receive. I think those are a little of the ways that those qualities have improved. My leadership skilled have improved in many diverse ways. I have learned to accept responsibility for my action, which I think shows leadership. I have also learned to lead but not be bossy. Just to point them in a direction but let them follow their own path. I understand that leadership is not to choose a decision for someone else. No but, to guide them to the right choice for them, not me but them. I think that is a big accomplishment. So I have learned a lot since I joined Starworld AMAF. Some of the things I have learned will follow me through the rest of my life. I have made friends that I will never forget. I have learned lessons that can not be untaught. I have earned respect of fellow members. I also give my respect to all the black belts and other instructors who have helped me with my journey. I am proud of myself and glad to have been given the honor to train at Starworld AMAF. ~ Miranda

Since my daughter, Anna, has started taking martial arts she has showed improvements of her ability to concentrate without others distracting her. In kindergartener and first grade, her teachers only had one complaint and that was her ability to focus on her work. Her second grade teacher hasn’t had a problem with her at all and this has allowed her to make the principles list, and honor roll for students who receive all A’s. I can confidently say this is because of her training at StarWorld AMAF because each day she is focused to look at her own work instead of those around her. ~ Anna Richards

I feel very happy in the way that my son’s attitude changed and self discipline. I think he improved a lot in school and all around it helped him to learn not to be a bully. And most of all his self-confidence to know that he can do anything he wants in life if he pays attention and listens to his peers and teachers. ~TARA
